  On two visits, we experienced a very bad cut of steak, horrible mashed potatoes, good fish and chips and adequate burgers. The service is good. We will give this restaurant another try because their reputation for burgers is generally outstanding. We're hopeful we can have a better experience on a third and final try.

  This place is a Detroit classic. All the food is s great but it's the burger that brings everyone in. It has a certain, as the French would say, a certain...I do not know what. But it's huge and delicious. (That's what she said.) The fishy and chips are also excellent and a few years ago I remember having prime rib there that was outstanding. It's really popular, plan on a long wait at peak times, and understand peak times here can be an extra hour on either end of what is peak time elsewhere. Pro tip: get there before 5:00 and go early in the week. The beer selection is not huge, not small but an excellent selection service is always great. There are some wait staff that have worked there for a very long time.

  Everybody has their preferences when it comes to burgers. Redcoat Tavern is my preference. Consistently the best burger I've ever had hands down! I love a Red Robin burger. I love me a Jake's Wayback burger. I really like a Five Guys burger. Hell, I've had burgers all over the place and liked most of em'. The Shamrock certainly comes to mind! But for me, it begins and ends with Redcoat Tavern. Oh, did I mention the onion rings?...
